Smew Information

Smew's are a very beautiful waterfowl, their 15-17" in length, and weigh 1.3-1.6lb.
They molt two times per year once they are adults.
Breeds along wooded waterways in northern regions of Old World; regularly reaches western Alaska. Records elsewhere hard to assess.; some are escapes from captivity. But true vagrants are possible anywhere.
