Clavate Tortoise Beetle

I personally have not been the biggest fan of insects & beetles but I try my hardest to still mention them & I was researching when I came across this fascinating little guy. Its a clavate tortoise beetle tbeir 7 mm almost circular, slightly convex resembling flat turtlelike shell. Protonum and elytra transparent with brown patches near elytral edges. Their habitats are that of Fields and Wastelands. Their widespread from New England to South Carolina!
A fun little fact about these guys is that the clavate tortoise beetle whe threatened pulls in its antennae just as a turtle might withdraw its head and legs into its shell!
